--- name: children-storybook description: Generate a short, age-aware illustrated bedtime story with gentle narration and a portable HTML/ZIP player through SandBase; supports English and Simplified Chinese, consistent characters, and resumable media jobs. version: 0.1.2 --- # Children’s Storybook Turn a short idea (or no idea) into six or eight illustrated, narrated pages. The final `report.html` plays the audio and advances automatically, with a one-second pause between pages. `storybook.zip` includes every image and audio file for offline replay. **Example:** Little Puff finds his way toward a peaceful bedtime. [Recorded prototype evidence](results/prototype.json) contains six completed image/audio pairs. It is prior prototype evidence, not a live validation of this migrated release. Narration is English; the player interface is English. Read [evidence and limitations](references/workflow.md) before making quality or duration claims. ## Run Python 3.11+; standard library only. Start with the clearly labeled no-cost fixture: ```sh python3 scripts/storybook.py --fixture --out /tmp/storybook-fixture # Open /tmp/storybook-fixture/report.html. ``` For a real story, read a regular SandBase model key from the current process environment (`SANDBASE_API_KEY`). Do not ask users to paste credentials into chat, save them, or put them in a command. Live generation costs money; establish the desired run and page count before invoking it. ```sh python3 scripts/storybook.py --idea 'A rabbit discovers a quiet song in the moonlight.' --age '5–7' --pages 6 --lang en --out ./my-story ``` - `--idea`: optional, at most 100 characters. Empty means invent an original theme. - `--age`: `3–5`, `5–7` (default), or `8–10`. `--pages`: 6 (default) or 8. - `--lang`: `en` (default) or `zh-CN` for command-line messages; generated HTML uses English. `zh` aliases Chinese, invalid values fall back to English. - Narration defaults to the warm voice style at 0.85 speed. Target a gentle short story; **never promise a precise runtime** before listening to the generated audio. - Rerun the **same command and output directory** to resume. Only use `--retry-failed` for confirmed terminal media failures. Unknown submission outcomes deliberately remain blocked to prevent duplicate charges. - Open `report.html` or unzip `storybook.zip`. Browser autoplay requires the first Play click. Manual navigation, image preloading and page animation are included; reduced-motion preferences are respected. Do not include a book in public galleries without the user's choice. The CLI runs locally or in a user-owned sandbox. The Lab temporarily hosts the Skill workflow in its existing user-session Worker transport, as explicitly approved by the user. A session is forwarded only within a current authenticated request to SandBase; it is never persisted or passed to a sandbox. No admin or platform key fallback is allowed. Sandbox model-key injection remains pending. For models, output schema, cost semantics, failure recovery, sandbox tests, evidence and FAQ, read [references/workflow.md](references/workflow.md).
