# Echo Corridor

Walk through an aging residence, inspect nearby objects and recover six photograph fragments across five changing passages. Quiet Residence includes an authored hallway and side room, warm flashlight shadows, procedural materials and pictures, a spatial figure encounter, mouse and touch controls, English and Simplified Chinese.

## Example

```sh
node scripts/fill-prompt.mjs --slots assets/prompts/examples/quiet-residence.json --out prompt.md
node scripts/new-project.mjs --out my-corridor
cd my-corridor && npm ci
npm run dev
npm run build:single
npm run shoot -- --file dist-single/index.html
```

Give the filled prompt and generated project to a coding agent. Edit `src/passages.json` for lighting and palettes, `src/clues.json` for fragments, and `src/world.ts` with `src/sim.mjs` together for room geometry. When fragment positions change, update the authored walkthrough and verification waypoints. Deliver editable source, one offline HTML and bilingual verification reports.

## Interaction

Use WASD or hold the on-screen arrows to walk; drag the scene to look. Face a nearby object and choose Interact. Toggle the flashlight, inspect at a narrower field of view, pause or restart. Walk through the end door to enter another passage. Six collected pieces unlock the last exit. Keep clear of the figure to avoid returning to the entrance. Optional synthesized tones start only after a gesture; reduced motion starts paused.

## Verification and hosting

See `references/verification.md`. The maintainer publisher builds first-party source in an isolated temporary copy without credentials and uses a loopback-only browser server. A SandBase Sandbox may run the same commands. Headless timing does not establish physical-device performance.

## Credentials and failures

No keys, external assets, model calls or storage are needed. Node 22.4 or later and npm dependencies are required; missing Chrome stops browser checks. Invalid catalog data fails with a stable rule code. The UI reports a graphics startup failure. Door and fragment interactions require a nearby visible target; an incomplete photograph keeps the last door closed.

## FAQ

- Does the camera move automatically? Only the authored capture walkthrough does. Live play responds to your controls.
- Can fragments be collected through walls? No. The side-room doorway must be open and unobstructed.
- Is there a recording or voice track? Only optional locally synthesized tones are included.
- Does restart keep my progress? No. Restart begins a fresh five-passage walk.
