Recreation of Hamburg City Hall in Unreal Engine
Creator notes
recreation of Hamburg City Hall in Unreal Engine 5.8 using Claude Opus 5.5... and nothing in the model was sculpted by hand the trick is generating the building from code, but there's a smart way to set it up: - step 1: Claude Code connects to Blender and Unreal through MCP - step 2: Opus writes Python scripts that generate the building from parameter files: massing, facades, ornament, windows, statues, materials - step 3: heights and proportions come from the city's official open 3D model, not from guessing - step 4: Opus renders control images and compares them against photos and street view - step 5: every build runs a normals and visibility check before export - step 6: the model goes into Unreal with Nanite as one asset - step 7: every measurement and decision is written into the project docs and the lesson that makes it work... measured, not guessed "the roofs look too steep" turned out to be wrong: checked against the survey data, they were right photo estimates from street level are often 1-2 m off change a number, rebuild, re-export
